Legend of the Seeker has been renewed for a second season by Disney.

Based on "Sword of Truth" books written by Terry Goodkind. In a mythical land (Hartland), one man, Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), discovers his true destiny. He is Seeker, the man who dedicate his life to fight against evil Lord Darken Rahl. His friends are a powerful sorcerer Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander (Bruce Spence) and a confesor Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan).

Legend of the Seeker premiered on the weekend of November 1-2, 2008 in the United States and attracted more than 4.1 million viewers over the two days.
The first two episodes obtained an average of 1.5/3 Nielsen Rating among 54 metered markets with a 1.4/3 rating on Saturday and a 1.7/3 rating on Sunday. In addition to improving its broadcast time periods in several top markets, Legend also improved the audience numbers in the key 18 to 49 year old demographic in all airings. Over its first month of airing, the show averaged more than 3.6 million viewers. It was renewed for a second season after obtaining a 2.0 household rating average for its first ten episodes.

Legend of the Seeker reviews
The Seeker received generally mixed reviews from critics. The reviews were negative on the beginning ("not enough of excitement" or "not much provocative") but the reviews are much more positive after next episodes.
Legend of the Seeker is praised for beautiful New Zealand scenery, funny dialogues and a special lovestory between Richard and Kahlan.
I have all Sword of Truth books, i am watching this show from the beginning and i must tell i like it very much even i understand nobody is able to create as good TV show as great books are.
Legend of the Seeker is one of the best fantasy show i ever seen and i wish good luck to authors.

where does all this stuff come from ? stick to the story or create your own characters & build a story, but don't mess up what someone else has worked hard for.. btw terry, u shouldn't let them do this, it's better than this !
Taking a book and adapting it for screen is one thing but removing massive plot lines, changing characters personalities and oh yeah dumbing the more adult themes down or completely removing them to make it a more marketable product lfor a teen market eft me wishing I had never bothered tuning in.
For shame Terry! Not only were your characters in the books beautiful, dark, deep and dimensional you connected with them because of the emotional trials they went through. No offense to the actors/actresses as I am sure they have done what they could with what they were given I actually feel that the characters on the screen were more two dimensional than the paper your books are printed on.

The show is nothing like the book. ABC should just stop now. If you are appaled by the sex in the tv show how did you make it through the raping and killing in the books. I can hardly wait to see how they portait the namble turning the sisters of the light into sisters of the dark. Now that should be a disturbuing scene. The tv show is so dumbed down it is sad. If it was on HBO and made like Rome it could have been better. The books were adult entertainment, not wholesome family entertainment.
Heroes are supposed to have challenges. but this is ridiculous. They should give the audience a break. So many tv shows and movies today are full of wide scale horrible suffering and impossible odds. I was not expecting nor do I need a family show. I would at least expect there to be some hope, some feeling that life will not be endless misery and suffering.
My son was discussing the show at his work at HP had his co-workers expressed their disappointment also. It is a shame that your show can't appeal to the millions of families who are looking for wholesome entertainment.
