Stargate Atlantis CancelledStargate Atlantis cancelled by SCI FI Channel. Season 5 is the last season of Stargate Atlantis. The last episode Enemy At the Gate will be the 100th and final episode of the series, and will air in January. The spin-off series will conclude in January with the current, fifth season, and will be followed with an Atlantis movie.

"We're excited to tell Atlantis stories on a bigger canvas," series creators Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper said.

"The successes of the two original Stargate DTV movies The Ark of Truth and Continuum have shown us the opportunities that the movie format offers.

We have plans for both SG-1 and Atlantis to remain vital as we expand the franchise."

This is a terrible news for all Stargate Atlantis fans...

+2 #105 cheechcats 2009-01-08 12:46 totally agree with every sci-fi loving person out there the cancellation of this SGA could be the worst decision the so called sci-fi channel has ever made . So come on people in tv land pull your fingers out of your a**** and give us what we want , which is decent sci-fi programmes like SGA. Quote

+2 #100 Myk 2009-01-03 08:57 It's seems there is no more sci-fi in the sci-fi channel. I want to say this loud and clear to however made this decision to cancell SGA … YOU ARE WRONG TO CANCELL THIS SHOW !!! Besides the fact it is well written and well liked by many, over the past few years your Sci-Fi channel has become less sci-fi and more everything else its not supposed to be on a sci-fi channel. I am at that end point with the so called sci-fi channel cancelling good shows. A movie once or twice a year wont cut it. The story lines and characters development would be too condensed or just cut out all together giving us a lack of substance over maybe some nice CGI effects and fans owning a dvd version of it. You guys are jerks. I hope another company out there makes a real Sci-Fi channel come to be and will stand behind there shows 100% unlike this farce of a channel and put you out of business. 0 #99 Tara Godard 2009-01-03 08:55 Sci Fi management has nothing to do with Sci Fi genre. They are just bureaucrates and accountants. Shame!

+3 #98 zFerus 2009-01-03 06:27 I've been watching SG since I was 15. I'm almost 30 now and have never missed a show. SGA was so much better then SG-1, in so many ways. A couple of movies… WTF! The SG-1 movies were ok. However SGA should have stayed on the air for at least 2 ? 5 more seasons. A few movies won?t do it justice! The last true Sci-fi show is gone for all the wrong reason. I hope those idiots at NBC wake up. They totally destroyed the channel. ? 1 true fan? Quote

0 #97 Chris Luther 2009-01-01 22:00 Hi I live in the UK and we don't get Atlantis on the SCI- Fi channel. We get ours on SKY ONE. The two SG1 tv movies were in no way as good as if there had been an extra season or two. Why cancel one Stagate series and start another? What is the point? Quote

+2 #95 x sci fan 2008-12-16 00:11 I have some time this evening and wanted to watch little sci fi. Too my disappointment as usual the NBC FI let me down again. Do not get me wrong. I do like James Bond and it is fiction. Just not Science Fiction. Give me a break please!! Quote

+1 #94 SG1/A Fan 2008-12-09 23:40 It's all about the money… they'll clean up with movies and can throw some ultra-cheap programming in a prime slot. Stargate Atlantis needs a bailout package Quote

+3 #93 Michael Demster 2008-12-09 02:16 DONT CANCEL STARGATE ATLANTIS!!!! WE love it. It is a crime to cancel it. There are way to many items to address. The stories could reach for seasons. PLEASE find a way to keep it. Quote

+2 #92 Maurinas 2008-12-06 20:15 Alex epressed the problem by a great way. You are rigt! Quote

+2 #91 Alex 2008-12-05 21:54 Im from Britain, and i have seen nearly every single sg1 and SGA episodes. SGA is brilliant, fantastic and sublime. This StarGate Universe is just a copy of Star Trek which is now dead. Stargate Atlantis is fresh and brilliant, the fight scenes are excellent, even the worse episodes are still great fun to watch. A 2 hour movie does not make up for 20 hours of pleasure i enjoy for every season. It appals me and I really hopr you regret your foolish decision of cancelling it and bring it back for at least a couple more series. Quote

+2 #90 shawn 2008-11-29 17:59 I can't believe you're ending this fantastic show. What's next? Eureka? The only remaining reason to turn on the channel? I guess that makes more room for cheap crap like reality programming! Quote

+2 #89 fan 2008-11-22 15:04 THE best show on their network, who cares about making movies. Keep the series going Quote

+2 #88 A Russia Fan 2008-11-22 13:09 Who are the managers of Sci Fi? They are just even worse bureaucrates than OIA! They canceled every good Sci Fi show. SHAME! These dumb imbe*les really sucks. Quote

0 #87 Tazman28 2008-11-22 09:24 Um… What is all the fuss about? I for one knew this was coming when I first learned that NBC owned the Sci Fi Channel. I mean look what they do to great programming at the parent network
When it comes to NBC, it's best to wait until a show has run it's course then catch all the reruns later in sydnication. At least then you won't stress your life away wondering if/when a great series will be cancelled!

+2 #86 Sldi 2008-11-22 02:31 Well, I've just about had it!
SciFi started out as true science fiction net, now I call it The Horror Channel-with a touch of Grade B reality shows, slice 'n dice pictures and old "scary" tales.
At first, it was amusing, even "old school," as long as I could get SOME real Sci-Fi, but after the millionth time of repeats and no new imagination (aka reality shows, wrestling, etc.), I've given up on the network.
First, Babylon 5, then some Star Trek, then Farscape, then SG-1, now SG1-Atlantis (I missed the movies)and so many more are gone, and all for some more money.
Battlestar Galactica was sex, lies and outer space in high tech.
Sanctuary is nice but just more horror.
The made-for-SciFi TV movies are nice but just more magic and fantasy.
WHERE IS THE SCIENCE FICTION?
The people who will make the real, long-term money will be the ones who bring back this lost art form.
TOO BAD, SciFi Channel. I was one of the die-hard fans defending your channel in a world gone "reality" wild.

+2 #85 CS 2008-11-22 01:36 I just found out it was getting cut.But not to worry,we can watch wrestling and the new reality shows and on saturday night,we can watch some of sci fi original movies.(Great acting and special effects).I do like ghost hunters and eureka. This has got to be one of the biggest bonehead moves I can remember.Oh I almost forgot we can watch josh gates on his historic adventures
Hey sci fi,you guys are on the ball.

+1 #84 Jake 2008-11-21 23:38 Now that SGA is standing on its own, without SG-1, with new aliens, spin off versions of old allies, and a fighting chance against the wraith…sure, lets commit euthanasia on a young, successful show. Can I see a show of hands how many people turn to SciFi to see wrestling? Or how about yet another "reality show", meaning, cheap, useless, crappy, sell out that has nothing to do with SciFi?! Didn't we save Daniel Jackson? Didn't we get Carson Beckett back ( for visits )? Where is the petition? Without SGA, I don't have any reason to turn the SciFi channel on at all. After all, it is the last bastion of science fiction on the Channel. Quote

+1 #83 Nikki 2008-11-21 21:56 I am sick and tired of great shows getting cancelled! This is bullshit. You cancel all the good shows and replace them with crap! Well after years of loyalty to the SciFi Channel I am through! Every week we make an evening of SciFi now you have ended a wonderful tradition. Good Luck keeping in buisness with these endless bad decisions. You have lost many of fans due to your stupidity!!!! Quote
