sorry i'm not an Australian, it's a cover... (insert evil laugh). i'm going to buy season 4 on dvd the second it comes out. i've read a lot on season 4 as well as the comments. And i've watched some sg1 and haven't ever imagined Carter as a commander.

I don't know why people are getting so worked up about the fact Dr Weir is disappearing from the story for a short while. they ended it like they did with Weir so that in the future, if Higginson wants to come back to the show the story is still open to her character for a return. 
Be happy they didn't kill her off. 
 
Puddle Jumper i have read some of your previous posts and i understand you haven't watched season 4 as of yet. yes i know your Australian (i think?) as am i but, you can't really make an assessment or form and opinion until you have watched season 4. 
You can always download season 4 then buy on DVD when it comes out later in the year(i'm downloading the episodes 19 and 20 as i write this). 
get Bitlord (www.bitlord.com)or another torrent engine and there is a very good quality complete season on xtvi.com (called stargate atlantis season 4 complete) you will need to look carefully cause they are a long list of torrents under stargate. 
I HAVE to get season 4 on DVD for comentary's and special features and to support the people behind SGA of course.

they messed up not finnishing stargate properley Ark of truth was a bad stop gap for a final 11th season. I have to say Iv been a loyal fan since the very first episode of SG-1, but i am greatly dissapointed with the lose of all these people, losing wier was a shame, but the was successfully filled by Sam.

Anger management, anybody? Usually the producers of TV shows like to keep things constant; whenever an actor leaves a show it doesn't mean that the producers kicked them off. Usually it's because the /actor/ chose to leave.  
 
Weir "She rejected contract for Stargate Atlantis Season 5.", as STATED ABOVE. She rejected it! So stop blaming the producers :/ You should be thankful that they've taken the time to make this show for you to enjoy. :/

I will never forgive them for killing of Weir. Season 4 just wasn't the same without her (ie, worse) and season 5 will be no better. Such a shame.

i agree with puddle jumper no weir in season 5 wtf hate it when they kill a charachter off especially when she said its time in season 4 i knew carters time in atlantis was going to be short but the writers need to check these forums for what the fans really think or they wil lose a lot of fans by killing off everyone they need a kick in the stargate. anyway season 5 should be good hope so season 4 was fine but woolsey as commander of atlantis he acts just like the doctor he played in star trek voyager totally holographic

Atlantis Season 5 Cast -Tapping

Firstly a note on Amanda Tapping, She has decided to leave the show to focus on her new project `Sanctuary`, Which Sci-fi Channel has Just ordered 13 episodes, However she will not be getting killed off on the show as her character will return in Stargate SG-1 new dvd Due out In July. So Go Out and Buy it. That will be the second SG-1 DVD, not Ark of Truth.

Come on guys and gals....

Most of the time its not the producers fault that people that play the characters don't resign for another season. Most people find acting on any television show very very exhausting. When the cast and crew are in full swing they have to put in 20 hours a day. You can't just setup in a few hours....some of the setups can take days to prepare, then you have to fly everyone in and shoot. When the budget is going down every hour you have everyone on board, expectations are lifted and this is all when fatigue starts to show.... give em a break. I love Stargate to death, but dont want to see all the actors old and decreped lol

If they're gonna kill off Carson and Weir... who next? i hate to say this but if too many of the main charaters go i might stop watching.
