Sci-Fi confirmed next 20 episodes what means Stargate Atlantis Season 5. Richard Woolsey - new Atlantis commander in Season 5.

Stargate Atlantis is currently one of the most popular Sci Fi shows.

Stargate Atlantis Season 4 will end March 7, 2008. 

The great news is this show will continue.

Release date of Stargate Atlantis Season 5 is not known at the moment.

We will meet Dr. Beckett (Paul McGillion) - he will also appear in Season 4 end.

NEW Stargate Atlantis commander.

Amanda Tapping (Samantha Carter) will not be SGA commander in Stargate Atlantis Season Five.

Atlantis will get a new commander - he/she will be a familiar face but not John Sheppard as John Mallozzi said.

Update: 

Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo) will be the new Atlantis commander in Season 5. 

Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks) will play in first two episodes.

Carson Beckett (Paul McGillion) will cast in 5 episodes.

	SA5 Actually Robert Picard (woolsey) is an excellent actor who played a very likeable character as the doctor on the hit series Star Trek Voyager.  I will admit that his charictor on Stargate is not as likeable; however, we may see a different side to his character.

	Daniel for commander don't know about season 5, but when does season 4 come out in Australia???    i still agree about Daniel, he's a good charater, and for some reason i think he just sort of fits in Atlantis. I hav read that he will be in season 5 for at least two episodes

	well... i think... what i think is that Dr. Daniel Jackson fron SG-1 should be new SGA commander, because he knows a lot of stuff about Atlantis and Ancients, and everybody always likes him...

	Woolsey sucks please don't compare Woolsey to McKay, McKay's character is awesome but woolsesy sucks!  i actually agree with u about Daniel, i know i've said before that i'm against mixing main characters of the two shows but i think Daniel would really fit the part of Atlantis leader, i don't think any military commander would fit the position.

	Richard "Dick" Woolsey Let me start off by saying this: Richard Woolsey is not the worst choice for new commander, nor is he the best. Similar to Dr. Rodney Mckay prior to Atlantis, Richard Woolsey is a character that has been in development for years in the Stargate universe. He is a semi-developed, love-to-hate, character that has some potential.     Samantha Carter was not a very good choice for a commander of Atlantis. She was a good placeholder for a season and the best choice when faced with the replicators. But now that their threat has passed (wink-wink, nudge-nudge), she doesn't seem to fit on the Atlantis base.     Atlantis is an IOA (civilian) project, thus a non-military commander is a better fit. Now, Dr. Daniel Jackson would be the perfect candidate, however, like Samantha Carter, he is needed on Earth to continue with the SG-1 series of movie spin-offs.

	Sheppard Removed? I think someone said earlier--fans like consistency. Changing too many characters too quickly is not good. Tell me I'm wrong, but I think the Shep/Rodney, Rodney/Zelenka and the Shep/Rodney/Carson dynamic was wonderful. Throw in Dr Weir to mimic our reaction to these four stooges and there's a hit TV show--just when TV is dying.
