Stargate Universe story
Stargate Universe will be set on a ship that was part of an Ancient experiment to seed the galaxies with Stargates millions of years ago but that was prematurely ended by the Ancients' ascension. After placing Stargates throughout multiple galaxies, a second ship would follow up and explore. The basis of Stargate Universe is the ninth and final chevron, which previously unknown would serve to get to the first ship.
Stargate Universe release date
The pilot script for Stargate Universe was originally planned to be written by Stargate producers Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper.
As of April 2008, the series is still in an early stage of development. If the show is picked up by a network, the most likely scenario is that writing, preproduction, and casting would occur over 2008, and filming commence no earlier than February 2009.
